Karolína, a 17-year-old participant, shares her thoughts and experiences about recent project in Romania:
Our Erasmus+ journey began with a 30-hour trip to the village of Valea Doftanei – Trāisteni in Romania. Throughout the 10-day project, we focused on the topic of mental health.
We engaged in many activities that not only taught us more about the subject but also helped us improve our teamwork skills. This strengthened relationships between participants and led to new friendships. We also visited local high schools, where we gave presentations. For the young students at these schools, we provided a brief introduction to Erasmus+ and prepared mental health-focused activities for them. Additionally, we visited a castle in the city of Sinaia and continued to Brasov, where we spent the rest of the day, getting to know Romania even more.
During cultural evenings, countries showcased their traditional foods and drinks and even prepared cultural programs including singing and dancing. We also had the chance to try local pizza made by the family of one of the participants. The entire project was filled with a positive spirit, great people, and a beautiful setting.
We learned a lot about mental health, how to care for it and maintain it. We improved our English skills and made new friends. Erasmus+ is an amazing experience with many benefits, so don’t hesitate to participate!
